Quantum phase with coexisting localized, extended, and critical zones

چکیده

Conventionally a mobility edge (ME) marks critical energy that separates two different transport zones where all states are extended and localized, respectively. Here we propose quasiperiodic spin-orbit coupled lattice model with experimental feasibility to realize quantum phase three coexisting energy-dependent zones, i.e., the extended, critical, localized uncover underlying generic mechanism for occurrence of this phase. Accordingly, exhibits types MEs which separate from ones ones, We introduce diagnostic quantities characterize distinguish show predicted can be detected by measuring fractal dimension or conductivities. The realization is also proposed studied. This work extends concept ME enriches phases in disordered systems, sheds light on searching localization phenomena thermoelectric effects.

marginal behavior of the quantum potential in extended phase space

here, the concept of quantum potential that has been illustrated in extended phase space (eps) in previous works is explored for its marginal behavior. unlike in configuration space, different representations of the quantum mechanics can be found in eps when exploiting appropriate canonical transformations. these canonical transformations revealed that there exist several representations in whi...

An extended phase space for Quantum Mechanics

The standard formulation of Quantum Mechanics violates locality of interactions and the action reaction principle. An alternative formulation in an extended phase space could preserve both principles, but Bell’s theorems show that a distribution of probability in a space of local variables can not reproduce the quantum correlations. An extended phase space is defined in an alternative formulati...

Extended quantum critical phase in a magnetized spin-1/2 antiferromagnetic chain.

Measurements are reported of the magnetic field dependence of excitations in the quantum critical state of the spin S=1/2 linear chain Heisenberg antiferromagnet copper pyrazine dinitrate (CuPzN). The complete spectrum was measured at k(B)T/J< or =0.025 for H=0 and H=8.7 T, where the system is approximately 30% magnetized. At H=0, the results are in agreement with exact calculations of the dyna...

Targeting spatiotemporal patterns in extended systems with multiple coexisting attractors.

We set up adaptive control algorithms which can be used to achieve control to desired attractors in spatially extended systems. Traditional adaptive control methods often fail in such systems due to the presence of multiple coexisting attractors that lead to a high probability of the system getting trapped in an undesired attractor despite the application of control. We use quenching techniques...

Quantum phase transitions and the extended coupled cluster method.

We discuss the application of an extended version of the coupled cluster method to systems exhibiting a quantum phase transition. We use the lattice O(4) nonlinear sigma model in (1+1) and (3+1) dimensions as an example. We show how simple predictions get modified, leading to the absence of a phase transition in (1+1) dimensions, and strong indications for a phase transition in (3+1) dimensions.
